Inclement weather across the state could cause scheduling problems for state playoff events in several sports.

Individual tennis state championships are scheduled to be held on Friday and Saturday. The 4A state championships were moved from Millbrook Exchange Park to NC State University's indoor facility on Friday morning due to wet courts after severe weather moved through Raleigh overnight.

Track & field regionals are scheduled to begin this weekend in different areas of the state, and baseball, softball, boys and girls lacrosse, and girls soccer playoffs will continue on Friday and Saturday.

According to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner, the threat for severe weather is gone, but the chance of rain lingers into the weekend. The chance of rain will be there throughout the day, peaking in the Triangle around dinner time. Later tonight there is a 70 percent chance of rain, Gardner said, and that chance will go into Saturday.

The chance of rain Saturday remains around 50 percent until Saturday evening when the chance begins to abate.
